.al domains can be active for a maximum period of 10 years. This means that during registration, the domain can be registered for a maximum period of 10 years. But the renewal can be done for a maximum of 9 years.

The following rules apply to third-level domains:

1. The field to add Company ID is mandatory.
2. .com.al requires the company registration certificate as an additional document. Only Limited Liability Company or Commercial Person can have legal status.
3. .org.al requires as an additional document the license showing the company ID. Only Limited Liability Company can have legal status.
4. .edu.al requires the license from the Ministry of Education in Albania as an additional document. Only Limited Liability Company or Public Entity/Organization can have legal status.
5. In some cases, the Registry (AKEP) may ask for an identity card. This happens mainly in cases where the domain is a trademark.

Yes, in very rare cases, AKEP may refuse domain registration if the data provided by the registrar is incorrect or incomplete.
